 he was born on 14 November.On January 28, 1857, his mother died. At the age of sixteen, he left school and went to live with his widowed childless aunt, Marie-Jeanne Lecadre. 1840.He is known as a founder of french impressionist.He was a third generation Parisian.The school he whent to till 16 was a school of the secondary arts.When visiting Paris art the river  Louvre where he witnessed several artist trying to copy art masters.aving brought his art supplies he began painting in his room at the window.While painting he met several fellow artist who became his friends and most leter became impressionist.


After the outbreak of the franco prussian war he fled to england.While at england he stidied the works of john constable and  other artist.He went to the netherlands next..At the netherlands he made about 26 paintings.He went to the capitol amsterdam for a while.The police suspected him of revolutionary activities.Soon he returned to france.For 6 years he lived in a small village where many other parisians lived.He painted most of his well known art there.He returned to holland where he painted impression sunrise


He married camierele and soon had 2 children.camierele died later. monet painted her on her deathbed(picture is above.He married again about a year later.He began a campaighn as he called it to paint all of france.This campaighn includes several land and seascapes. His second wife died of the same disease that killed his first.he and his children moved into a 2 acre house with a barn that doupled as a painting studio.e died of lung cancer at the age of 86.He insisted that his funeral be simple.thus only 50 people attended His second oldest son inherited his land.Some of his painting have solf for over 2o million US dollars.
