Andrew Zimmern is a chef from New York City. He was born to a Jewish family and training in the culinary arts when he was 14. For around a year he had a severe drug addiction in which he was homeless and survived by stealing purses from cafes.Then he moved to Minneapolis where he checked into a clinic for drug addiction where he now volunteers. Soon after checking out of the clinic he got a job at Minneapolis' foshay tower.
At the Foshay Tower his menus received the highest ratings from several Minneapolis and national publications. He soon became the host of several Food shows such as bizarre foods Andrew Zimmern's bizarre world.He even had a several radio shows such as Cow-hounds and the Andrew Zimmern show.Besides his own shows Andrew Zimmern has also appeared on several other shows. He was also the former food reporter for Fox at minneapolis.
Andrew Zimmern is also a writer.he is an editor and writer at Minneapolis st. Paul magazine.He wrote a book called The Bizarre Truth: How I Walked out the Door Mouth First...and Came Back Shaking My Head. The book is about his travels and food stories from around the globe.In addition -he is also the senior editor at Delta Sky magazine. In addition he is Super-Target meal adventure guide where he shares his passion for food with supermarket shoppers.
Andrew Zimmern currently lives in Edina,Minnesota with his wife and his son,Noah. He is a guest chef at several national charity event, food festivals,and galas. He makes frequent appearances at food and wine magazines aspen festival and The Twin Cities Food and Wine Experience. He also appears occasionally of man vs. food.When he was traveling he visited 32 countries and 14 states son his show showing the foods of the area he was in.
